HatchLog open beta

Patch notes

Changes included in each open beta release.

Build 124

Current open beta

This build adds Palmstreet CSV export, private sale and transfer tools, and a redesigned Home screen.

New

  • Selected Collection animals can be exported to Palmstreet’s 14-column CSV.Before creating the file, you can review the title, description, price, sex, weight, and photo; HatchLog puts the Animal ID in the SKU column.
  • Palmstreet exports can include the animal’s current cover photo. The photo copy used in the export expires after seven days, and a registered animal can use its Registry image as a fallback.
  • Asking prices and completed sales can be recorded privately. You can add an asking price and, when marking an animal as sold, optionally record the sale date, price, and channel.
  • Palmstreet exports can save changes to an animal’s asking price and weight.A changed asking price saves after the CSV is created successfully; a new or changed weight adds a dated weight-log entry.
  • Palmstreet filenames include the local date and time. Each export uses a name such as HatchLog-Palmstreet-20260903-161300.csv, keeping repeat exports separate.
  • Unregistered animals can be transferred privately between HatchLog accounts. The sender needs active Pro and cloud backup, but the recipient does not need Pro.
  • Private transfers include the animal’s profile, morph selections, recorded lineage, and up to 12 photos.Private notes, care records, feeding and weight history, and sale details stay with the sender.
  • Incoming private and Registry transfers now appear on Home.Open an offer from the Inbox to review and accept or decline it.
  • Recipient search now suggests HatchLog accounts after three characters.Search by breeder name or @handle, then confirm the account name and @handle before sending.
  • Transferred-out animals can be deleted from Past animals. This removes only the sender’s private copy and does not undo the transfer or change the recipient’s record.

Changed

  • Home has a new daily dashboard.Cards for Inbox, feeding, breeding, and hatching use clearer status cues and consistent photo or monogram avatars in light and dark mode.
  • An animal’s existing QR label stays with it through a transfer.Control moves to the recipient and is removed from the sender; printed living-label QRs keep working after registration, and registered animals keep their permanent RC codes.
  • Transfer review now shows clearer account and animal details.Senders can confirm the recipient’s account name and @handle; recipients see the animal’s photo, sender, message, and the details included in the transfer.
  • Registration waits while a private transfer is pending.Complete or cancel the transfer before submitting the animal for registration.

Fixed

  • Sire and dam links now carry into registration from the animal’s private profile.A parent remains linked even when it is no longer on the active breeder list.
  • Personal recipients no longer appear as “Unknown breeder.”Transfer confirmation now shows the personal account name and @handle.
  • The transferred-out notice no longer overlaps phone controls. The notice and back button now remain fully visible.

Build 108

Previous open beta

This build changes how sire and dam records are linked, adds a follow-up path for producer attribution, and adds statistics pages for individual animals.

New

  • Attribution requests can be returned for more information. If a producer cannot confirm a request, they can select one or more missing details and add a private note. The requester can update and resend the request or cancel it.
  • Each breeder can have an individual statistics page.Search for an animal from Breeder Statistics to open a photo-led page with that animal’s production totals, fertility, hatch rate, and incubation history.

Changed

  • Parent selection now links the record you chose.Breeders, collection animals, outside ancestors, and registered animals are shown separately. Choosing one as sire or dam links that existing record instead of creating a second ancestor profile.
  • A local animal keeps its record when matched to the Registry.Photos, notes, lineage, and breeding history stay on the same HatchLog animal when its Registry record is connected.
  • Shared breeder identities now share one attribution inbox.Every member sees the same open requests. When one member handles a request, it clears for the others.
  • Registry parent search includes your own registered animals.Search results no longer hide an animal because you are its keeper or producer. Producer and keeper details remain visible on each result.
  • View Offspring opens the offspring it refers to.The button now opens Collection with the correct animals already filtered instead of returning to the top of the full collection.
  • Registration photo checks use the current crop rules.Photos that fit the current 3:2 landscape or 2:3 portrait framing are no longer rejected by older composition limits.

Fixed

  • Existing lineage links are preserved.App upgrades, backup restores, and cross-device sync no longer replace a saved parent link or turn it into a duplicate ancestor.
  • Infertile eggs no longer lower hatch rate.Hatch rate is now calculated from eggs that reached a hatch outcome. Infertile eggs remain part of fertility statistics instead.

Build 101

This build makes past-clutch entry work when only the hatch date is known and repairs the photo-loss paths found around restore and cross-device sync.

New

  • Lay date can be skipped when logging a past clutch. If only the hatch date is known, the clutch and its hatchlings can still be recorded without inventing a lay date.
  • Personal accounts can convert from the Account page. The breeder-account setup no longer has to begin inside animal registration.
  • Duplicate-name warnings offer a safe choice. If the same name already exists in Breeders, HatchLog offers to move that complete record or create a separate animal on purpose.

Changed

  • Past-clutch hatchlings use the hatch date entered in the workflow.Automatically generated pairing names are ordered by hatch date within that year, including when an older clutch is entered later.
  • Moving an animal keeps the whole record.Photos, notes, animal ID, and Registry connection stay attached when an animal moves between Breeders and Collection.
  • Attribution requests show the animal before approval. The producer can review the submitted photo and animal details before deciding whether to confirm the attribution.
  • Unregistered outside ancestors remain editable.Registering another animal in the lineage no longer locks unrelated local ancestor details.

Fixed

  • Restore and Undo Restore preserve usable photo links.Photos that are still on the phone stay attached to their animals. Backup export and restore now report any photo files that are actually missing.
  • Deleted photos stay deleted across devices.Photo recovery no longer reconnects a file after that photo was intentionally removed on another synced device.

Build 95

This build separates private HatchLog label IDs from public Registry codes and prevents one failed cloud record from stopping later uploads.

Changed

  • Registry links and HatchLog labels now go to the right record. An RC code opens the public Registry page. A HatchLog living label continues to open the private HatchLog animal record.
  • Unregistered parents keep their recorded names.A HatchLog label ID is no longer mistaken for an RC code when the parent has not been registered.

Fixed

  • Living labels no longer block registration. An unregistered parent can have a HatchLog QR label without the registration flow treating that label as a Registry conflict.
  • One failed cloud record no longer stops the sync queue.HatchLog keeps uploading later changes and records diagnostic details for support.

Build 94

This build adds a visible cloud-download tool and makes sign-in wait until HatchLog knows whether the account already has cloud data.

New

  • Your Data now includes Copy from cloud. The download shows counted progress so the user can see how many cloud records have been copied to the phone.

Changed

  • Your Data shows records still waiting to sync.Opening the screen retries those uploads and shows whether work remains.
  • Older restore points are included in restore totals. They appear in a separate group so current and older safety copies are not mixed together.

Fixed

  • An old repair upload no longer overwrites a newer edit. When two devices have changes, the newer saved record is no longer blocked by stale repair work.
  • Sign-in checks the cloud before offering setup choices.HatchLog now waits until account access and existing cloud records are known before offering to copy data or create local Registry records.

Build 81

This build protects deeper lineage during upgrades and repairs cases where claiming a Registry animal could create or expose a duplicate local record.

Changed

  • Grandparents and deeper ancestors remain connected.Upgrades, backup restore, and cloud sync preserve those links, while empty ancestor positions remain available for later entry.
  • Breeder-name setup begins when it is needed.Ordinary HatchLog signup no longer starts the public breeder-name process. That step begins when the user enters Registry registration.
  • Private pedigrees distinguish recorded and approved attribution.Producer information entered by the keeper is shown differently from producer attribution approved by the Registry.

Fixed

  • Claiming a Registry animal preserves the existing local animal. If duplicate records are found, HatchLog repairs the connection without discarding the original photos, lineage, or animal history.
  • Older lineage upgrades preserve deeper ancestors.Collection pages no longer expose raw stored lineage text while those records are being upgraded.
