What is The Reptile Club?+

The Registry is a public record of reptile lineage. Every animal registered through the HatchLog app receives a Certificate of Pedigree with a unique RC code. Anyone with the code can view the animal’s parents, hatch date, breeder, and three generations of ancestry on reptileclub.com.

How do I register an animal?+

Registration is done from inside the HatchLog app. Once an animal’s parents are recorded and the hatch is logged, the breeder taps Register from the animal’s profile. Once lineage and attribution are verified, the Registry assembles the pedigree from the records on file.

What does an RC code look like?+

An RC code is eight letters and numbers, prefixed with RC—. For example: RC—K7M2QX4P. Codes are case-insensitive and can be looked up at reptileclub.com.

Is verification free?+

Yes. Looking up a pedigree by RC code is free for everyone. No account is required.

What does it cost to register an animal?+

Registration pricing is set in the HatchLog app. Plan details are being finalized ahead of launch. For specific questions, the contact form below reaches the Club.

Can a pedigree be edited after it’s issued?+

No. Once a pedigree is issued, the lineage is locked. The Registry maintains the record independently of the breeder. If a genuine error needs to be corrected (a wrong parent recorded, for example), the keeper of record can request an amendment from the Club.

What happens when I sell a registered animal?+

The Certificate of Pedigree travels with the animal. The new keeper can be recorded in the Registry as the current holder, while the animal’s lineage and original breeder remain unchanged.

Which species does HatchLog support?+

HatchLog is designed for reptile breeders. Initial releases focus on the most-kept species in the hobby, with more added on an ongoing basis. If a species isn’t in the list yet, the contact form is the fastest way to flag it for the Club.

Is the app available on iOS and Android?+

The Android version of HatchLog is in active development. iOS is on the roadmap. The Registry website at reptileclub.com works on every device.

How can I delete my account or my data?+

You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@reptileclub.com. We’ll remove your account and personal data within 30 days. Pedigrees that have already been issued and are part of the public Registry remain on the public record — this is essential to the integrity of the lineage system — but they will no longer be tied to your personal account.
